L-3 Communications/EDI designed, programmed, integrated and commissioned the Science Data Network (SDN) for the U.S. Coast Guard's newest icebreaker. The SDN includes the data acquisition computers, network server computer, and the Ethernet-to-FDDI Hubs on a dual ring, redundant FDDI fiber optic LAN serving 124 scientific workstations.
